House of Wow a performing space in Bandra presents ‘The Poetess and The Painter - A love story of words and strokes’ by Omkar Bhatkar. Performed by Bageshri Joshirao and Alvin Anthony, this play follows the story of an Artist, who is uncomfortably comfortable in his usual life and a Poetess, who is running away from the comforts of life.

The play tells a tale of an artist who is touched by a poem written by the poetess in an old magazine. He writes to her and she replies with a poem. He reverts with a painting! Soon they both make a world of their own through poetry and painting. The strokes that he made and the words that she used; belonged to their magical world. But what happens, when they decide to meet? What happens when magic meets reality? What happens when unknown secrets are known and realities are realized? She was an open book but he has his own secrets. Revelations and realization of a relationship based upon the promises, made in poems and dreams painted upon a canvas is the narrative of ‘The Poetess and the Painter’. This English 9o minutes long play will be a surreal look towards love and art.
