This spectacular music production seeks to capture some of the diversity and richness of India’s musical legacy and generate a spirit of national integration. Conceived and directed by renowned musician-singer-composer, Shankar Mahadevan, the show comprises a selection of songs in several Indian languages, each embodying the cultural ethos of a specific region. The songs are presented in a mix of traditional and contemporary styles, interlaced with pieces from popular Bollywood songs, and accompanied by visuals. The vitality and beauty of the music is captured individually so that the listener might savour each song, yet appreciate the variety as it unfolds. Mahadevan leads an ensemble of 22 musicians in this multi-media production.
