This ride ends on a Sunday at Naggar, from where we travel onwards to catch our respective flights/trains to your chosen destination. Transfers can be facilitated but are not included in cost of the tour package.
We begin this journey in the gorgeous Banjar Valley crossing the technically challenging and visually stunning Jalori Jot (Pass) to enter a distinct part of Himachal Pradesh. Tibetan Buddhism with a heady mix of Himalayan shamanism and the harsh remoteness of this region has created a eco system unlike any other in India. Centuries old monasteries and towns for trading caravans, a geographical location between India and Tibet make the, “Five Valley Trail” one of the most captivating rides both in terms of landscape and in terms of culture. The strength of human endeavour is visually evident as you cross Martian landscapes that suddenly sprout small villages that are more than a few centuries old. The ride into the beautiful Sangla valley with its apple orchards, blending into the apricot groves of Kinnaur. Mount Kinner Kailash, accompanies our journey as we cross into Spiti and its innumerable monasteries. From the spectacular Tabo (ajanta of the Himalayas) to the humble monastery at Dhangkar to the 1000 year old Kee, there are treasures lining our complete circuit. Streams that have left their beds to journey on the roads make for rather interesting river crossings, sliding down glaciers and a trek to the mesmerising Chandra Taal, there is so much action on this trip that the final descent down Rohtang, leaves naught but a faint impression in relation to the preceding 8 days.
