BHARATIYA Vidya Bhavan - the House of Indian Culture - was established in 1938 by Dr. Kulapati K.M.Munshi with
the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi and active support and
cooperation of several eminent freedom- fighters and statesman.
In view of its exemplary services to the nation over the past
eight decades, Bhavan has been conferred by Govt. of India
a) Institute of National Eminence.
b) Communal Harmony Award, 1999.
c) Rajiv Gandhi Award for National Integration, 1992
d) International Gandhi Peace Price, 2002
Bhavan's Bangalore Kendra has been established in 1965 and
ever since we have been very actively and assiduously
marching forward in pursuit of our avowed vision and mission.
We also run a school – soon to be affiliated to CBSE - in collaboration with Bruhat
Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike through an MoU reached on 12.11.2007. Since 2008, the school is being run
under the name and style of Bhavan BBMP Public School at No.21, Ward No. 97, 5th Main Road, Gautam Nagar, Sriramapuram, BENGALURU 560021. As on date, we have classes from Nursery to VII and are adding a class every year. Thus the school will reach its examinee class X (Secondary School) in the academic year 2020-21.
This school has been established exclusively for the downtrodden and weaker section of the society in a thickly populated area - Sriramapuram. Bhavan has made in -roads into their hapless lives an provides
through holistic education for the past more than 9 years.
Bhavan has been providing absolutely free education which
covers school fees, books & stationery, liveries, mid-day meals etc.
