About us

The Rural Door
Our young generation is born in a mechanical lifestyle, and we living in urban areas, can’t really do much about it. But what if we could take time off and visit our roots, catch a glimpse of, where we came from?

Started with an aim to cherish our lineage, and offer an insight into our very existence; we, at The Rural Door are delighted to invite you at our farm at Satara for a tour and take a closer look at agricultural farming. Witness the perfect amalgamation of modern technology and traditional farming methods to grow organic products loved by one and all.

Come to Krushak Ashram, located 15 km from Satara, just 4 kms from the highway, a small drive that brings you closer to your ancestry. Be in the lap of nature and watch closely how the food you buy in the cities is grown and experience india’s Rural lifestyle.

In urban areas children know little about where their food comes from, how it is grown, what a farm looks like and the relationship between their own health, healthy food and an overall healthy environment. Nowadays for the youth farmers and farming have an almost mythical quality, people and places imagined but not directly experienced.

We at The Rural Door through our farm visits provide an opportunity for children to come and visit a fully functional farm which will showcase a perfect blend of traditional and modern Indian agricultural knowledge and practices. It will be an opportunity for them to use all their senses while incorporating curriculum and agricultural based connections. The more they touch, smell, and taste the things they are learning about, the more deeply they would understand and remember lessons.

It is our endeavor to spread awareness to our future generations about the people and places that produce their food. This is a must if they are to care about farms and farming in the future.
