This is especially important in an age where much of the time, the mind is limited to what one sees on a screen. As a result, reality is largely experienced through images, causing children to overlook material processes, human made and natural.
This series of summer workshops introduces children... to the joy of making objects with their own hands. If they like it, you could always help them to develop the particular skill and to pursue it as a hobby. They could for example, make their own gifts for friends and family and gain a tremendous feeling of accomplishment and earn the appreciation of others.
