About us

Squash-A-Mile is an initiative to help cancer patients who cannot afford its treatment. The squash community in Mumbai will come together to show its concern and care at a fun-filled event that involves giving. This year, the proceeds from Squash-A-Mile will be given to V Care Foundation. V Care is dedicated to providing free help, hope, awareness and education to cancer patients and their families through outreach programs and services that improve the quality of their life. Bombay Gymkhana is the venue and is hosting the event. The event is being spearheaded by Rohaan Advani and Abhimanyu Shah on behalf of the squash fraternity. PS: YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A SQUASH PLAYER TO TAKE PART IN THIS EVENT. What is Squash-a-Mile? -Each person involved will either run/walk the 165 court lengths (approximately one mile) at their own pace. Only those who do 165 lengths will be timed. -You can pledge any amount that you are comfortable with. This will be linked to the number of the lengths you run. For example: Rs 25/ Rs. 50 per length. However, it is not mandatory for the number of lengths and money pledged to be linked. -The event is about the SPIRIT OF GIVING. We can all contribute a little something to help the less fortunate. -The coming together of the squash fraternity- in fact, the entire sports fraternity in Mumbai. FAQs: -How can I register? Press "attend" this event on facebook. -Can I pledge money if I am not at the event? Yes, you can. All pledges can be sent to Rohaan Advani or Abhimanyu Shah (+91 9322225352). You can donate in cash or cheque. Cheques should be made in the name of "V Care Foundation". 80G certificates will be given to donors. i will be very grateful if you could send me your 'pledge' before 8th September. Donations can be collected from your office/home, if required. -Is there a maximum/minimum pledge? No. Be as generous as you can. -Do I have to do 165 lengths? 165 lengths is a mile. You may run/walk or a combination of both. If you cannot complete the distance, you may complete how much ever you are comfortable with. -How long will the event last? Can children participate? You may come from any time between 10:00am and 1:00 pm on the day. Children are welcome. We would like to see as many kids as possible- contributing to the energy of the event.
