About us

I donot want my house to be surrounded by walls or all sides of

my windows to be barricaded. I want all the world's cultures to be free

to blow around my house but I don't want to be carried away

by any of them  -- Mahatma Gandhi.

Invitation

The Conference focuses on the theme Public Private Partnership (PPP) which is a new way for the government to deliver service to people; an approach where the responsibility is shared between the public and private sectors. This PPP approach has to facilitate development of tourism in Karnataka. ONE STATE, MANY WORLDS: KARNATAKA is the hub of tourism because of its positive attitude towards tourists coming from within and outside. Our State has to seamlessly integrate its modern Silicon Valley tag being globally recognized as a cradle of stone architecture.

With this back drop, both sectors have to work together to mobilize their strengths, scale and sensibilities to have an enduring and positive impact on tourism to reach the target set by Government of Karnataka expecting 776.83 lakh domestic and 5.26 lakh foreign tourists by 2020. For such a vibrant and competitive private sector supported by a competent and stable public sector, the conference is aimed at:

  • To create vibrant PPP model of culture of tourism in Karnataka with active involvement of all stakeholders to drive massive interests into destination-creating projects for tourism department.
  •
  • To make “Tourism” Karnataka's principal and largest economic activity as an employer, tax-
    generator and engine of growth.
  •
  • To strengthen government's core competencies and policy decisions with overall regulatory
  • framework for bridging in innovative investment culture for development of tourism in
  • Karnataka.
  •
  • To utilize “Tourism” as an effective tool for the promotion of cultural diversity, sustainable
development and the struggle against poverty.
