In the backdrop of the Goods and
Services Tax (GST) rollout in the country from July 1 by the Government of
India, British Lingua – an institute of English Communication Skill of national
and international repute – is organizing a seminar on the subject for the
larger interest of society. The seminar will be held from 10 AM on 15th July at the Auditorium of Bihar Industries
Association which is located close to Patna Museum in the Capital.
The panel on ‘Decoding the GST’
includes speakers like Prof. N. K. Jha from Patna University who have
distinguished themselves for their expertise on the subject. The institute has
sent invitation to Finance Minister Mr. Abdul Bari Sidiqqui and Mr. Sushil
Kumar Modi, former Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Bihar. As
things now stand, everyone is hooked on to the aura of the landmark tax reform
– the GST, a unified tax that removes the multitude of taxes.
As is normal with any bold
initiative, indirect tax payers, retailers, the end-customers, students and
public at large are still curious to know about the GST bill and its efficacy
to lead them in one tax regime. The seminar seeks to clarify both finer and
complex points (and there are too many) in the GST. That is perhaps why a
substantial number of professionals, businessmen and students will be attending
the panel discussion.
As experts say that India Inc and
governments will have to invest around Rs. 20,000 crores to get ready for the
GST-compliant, seminar will also highlight on this golden opportunities for
employment. Since its inception, more than two decades ago, British Lingua has
been, through its skill development and training programme, at the forefront to
equip the youth with employable skill.
