Ladies and gentlemen, fasten your seatbelts and get ready for
the toughest off-road motorsport challenge in India which will be held in Goa
from 24th July to 31st July, 2015.
After the phenomenal success of 2014 edition of the
Force Gurkha Rainforest Challenge (RFC) India, the first of its kind extreme off-road
motorsport event in India is back! Ranked amongst the top ten toughest motor
races in the world, the Rainforest Challenge was introduced in India by Cougar
Motorsport Pvt. Ltd. in 2014 to much acclaim and recognition. The 2015 edition
will take place in Goa from 24th to 31st July during the
south west monsoons. Force Gurkha RFC India 2015 will test the driving and
vehicle recovery skills of the participants under extreme off-road conditions
wherein the teams would fight their way through incessant rain and compete in numerous
Special Stages over a course of eight days.
Eligibility
Force Gurkha RFC India 2015 is open to individuals
and teams with a road registered 4-wheel drive or an ATV (All Terrain Vehicle).
Each vehicle may have a team of two. There are 30 participation slots available
for competing teams. Apart from the main competitor category, participants may also
choose to enter as touring adventurers.
Challenge
Following the format from the mother event held in
Malaysia, the challenge is divided into four stages – the Prologue, the
Predator, the Terminator and the Twilight Zone – which shall include thirty Special
Stages (SS) and will be covered over the course of eight days. The Prologue
stage is open to general viewing, where spectators may witness the adrenalin
pumping high speed off-road action. The Predator and the Terminator stages will
test the mettle of the participants at various off-road locations in Goa before
the ante is upped in the Twilight Zone stage, where the participants would have
to push on one final time for the finish line.
Winning that
counts
Force Gurkha RFC India is based on the concept of
overall points earned during the campaign; completing a SS grants participants
points based on their performance, whereas damaging the flora and fauna will
incur a penalty, and might even lead to disqualification. At the end of the
event, the team with the most points and least penalties incurred will win. Winners
will get an automatic free entry into the RFC mother event to be held in
Malaysia. Apart from the podium finishes, various other awards like ‘Team
Spirit Award’, ‘Environment Award’, ‘Most Unique 4x4’, ‘Jungleman Award’ and
‘Ladies Team’ will be distributed amongst the participants.
