This walk shall take you to the less explored side of the walled city! Starting from Ahmed Shah’s private place known as Ahmed Shah mosque, the walk shall take you down to the famous Sunday market Gurjari Bazar or Ravivari Bazar on the bank of Sabarmati river. We’ll then explore the beautiful Divan’s Bungalow which is a heritage house, followed by the remnants of the citadel and wall that extended up to the river side, and last but not the least, the Gaekwadi Haveli. While walking down the road on the river side, you’ll get to hear about the history of Ahmedabad especially of the arrival and departure of various rulers from Ahmed Shah, to the Gaekwads, the Peshwas and finally the British.
Walk with us through the palimpsest of the spectacular walled city and be a spectator to the blend of the modern and traditional lifestyles of Ahmedabad.
