About us

Amitav Ghosh is perhaps one of the best known Indian writers. Someone whose a stalwart in his genre and have been decorated with prestigious awards around the globe. His books have been published in more than 20 languages.

His literary journey has given us books such as The Shadow Lines, Calcutta Chromosome, The Glass Palace, The Hungry Tide and most recently the Ibis Trilogy.

Through his genre, which is historical fiction, he gives his reader a view of the once opulent, very vibrant but now lost world yet their markings in making the world as we know it now. His writing not only captivates the reader but leaves a lingering feeling an after thought of those bygone eras.

So let's join in exploring moment...s of history through Amitav's glass.

We will begin the session with our regular round of introductions and book exchanges. We have a huge standing bookshelf at the Matterden from which we can exchange our books as well.
