About us

AAYAM is the annual technical festival of the Department of Electronics Engineering, IIT (BHU) Varanasi. It is being conducted by Electronics Engineering Society from 14th to 16th Feb, 2014.

The primary and foremost objective of the fest, is to let students  scratch their heads over some out of the textbook problems in the field of Electronics Engineering including  both hardware and software arenas.

The main events this year include:

1.       Cirkitron, i.e., circuit design events, will enable you to test your skills in the field of hardware design; It is a cluster of 4 events:

  •   I-Chip will give you hands on perspective on “Reconfigurable Computing” where you will learn how to offload computationally extensive algorithms to FPGA’s. Here you will implement FFT algorithm on Xilinx FPGA.
  •  Funckit will require you to build up a circuit from core devices for performing a particular function.
  •  Digisim will give you an opportunity to design and simulate a complex circuit for a certain algorithm from basic digital gates, flip-flops and memories.
  •  Embedtron will test your skills in the field of embedded system design.

2.       Sigpro, i.e. signal processing events, will provide you with an opportunity to form teams and work together to solve a challenging and interesting real-world problem using signal-processing techniques and method. The main events in this category are:

  •   Auditron in which a challenging industrial problem would be put forward in the field of audio signal processing.
  •    Mosaic which would require you to implement basic hand gesture recognition.

3.       Commnet where you will have to design AM transmitter-receiver module in matlab/python.

4.       Muse, the paper presentation event, is the stage for you to present your ideas, innovations and implementation of technology in the form of a scientific paper. This event is the ideal platform to showcase your thinking and present your ideas and technologies in a professional manner.

5.       Code-def, an online coding completion.

6.        Endeavour workshop series will consist of workshops by professionals from leading companies in the field of VLSI design.

You can find the details of all the events at our website http://www.aayam.org.
